We bought these to clip our piggy's toenails. She has difficulty with this and runs away from it, but it must be done. Anyway the old ones we used even though were sharp took some time and squeeling. These however are the best and we throw some of her favorite food down and with in seconds the job is done and she hardly new it. Also does wonders for the intended purpose of cutting through thick branches with no problem. These are a great find and the price is a good one. Very pleased!

...ever try to find a replacement blade? You won't find one anywhere but from Fiskar's Customer Service (1.800.500.4849). Fiskar does not make the replacement blades available to their vendors. Bizarre. First replacement blade is free. Additional blades are $7.99 + S&H. Blade order number for the 32" Lopper is 7100-7369. Customer service at Fiskar is wonderful. I just think it stinks that this is the only way to get a replacement blade.

These Loopers are great. I am using them form clearing fence line and can cut through sapling 1.5" no problem. Easy to use my wife was able to cut a 1" sapling without much effort. Highly recommend.

I bought this as a gift for my 80 year old mother who has a bad back & can no longer bend over to weed her flower beds. It cuts easy, sharp blades. The only improvement I would make is to have a small rake head attached to the other side somehow to pull the weeds away after you cut.

I'd also like to see padding on the handles. They hurt (arthritius) after using for awhile.

so far this product has done most of what i wanted from but i have had a small problem with it i had to dismantle it and have the blades sharpened as it got a nick in it from cutting what you would call a branh off of a azelia tree but i thought it should have cut it with no problem but it didnt so that all i can really say bad about and that was my own fault i expected more than it could deliver in final i would say it worked really good just not as strong as i would have liked

I FOUND THAT MY HANDS BECAME VERY TIRED HOLDING THE SHEARS. PERFORMANCE-WISE IT DID A GREAT JOB CUTTING SMALL AREAS WHERE THE LAWN MOWER COULD NOT REACH PREVENTING HAVING TO BEND OR KNEEL TO CUT THESE AREAS.IT IS NOT A GOOD TOOL FOR ANYONE WITH ARTHRITIS THATS FOR SURE. I THINK IF IT HAD WHEELS ATTACHED THEN I WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE COMFORTABLE USING THEM. STILL IT BEATS BEING ON YOUR KNEES.

This is a fine tool for very light use. Unfortunately, most of the tasks you use a garden knife for are anything but light duty. After losing my many-years old hori hori knife, I thought I'd try this, mainly due to the price. On the plus side, the grip is comfortable, and the notched point is a nice feature. However, the build quality is not at all suitable to the things I want to use a garden knife for, such as prying out major weeds, dislodging rocks, sawing small roots, and dividing dense perennial clumps, etc. The blade is very thin and it is not securely attached to the handle. Returned it and went for a more sturdy knife (AM Leonard brand) that works much better (albeit at a higher cost). This knife would be fine for very light use in light soil. It won't survive anything else.

The Fiskars 7079 Big Grip Garden Knife is a great little gardening tool. Its grip handle is kind to your hands. I am attemping to care for a small flower bed and its perfect for the job. Its can be used for digging weeds and its cutting edge will take care of minor cutting needs.

The price was great for such a well used tool. I really appreciate the touch of orange on the habdle, makes its easier to locate.

Snapped in half after a week of use, while I was try to pry up a small clump of grass. Nice blade, but it's attached to the handle by a cheap weld. I'm going to buy a hori-hori knife with a real handle and blade.
